The English Department at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi welcomes you! The Department offers strong programs and diverse course offerings in linguistics, literature, and rhetoric and composition. The English faculty have a broad range of expertise, covering both traditional fields such as British and American literature as well as technical and creative writing, and more recent developments in the profession such as women’s and ethnic literatures, community literacy and service learning, and ethnography. We offer teacher certification programs (grades 4-8 and 8-12), as well as minors in Technical and Professional Writing and in Creative Writing. Faculty have a strong commitment to undergraduate education, and a dedicated faculty member with expertise in your career track will advise and mentor you throughout your undergraduate career.
