THEA QUICK TEST

 

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi offers an alternative test for the regularly scheduled THEA test, the THEA Quick Test; a paper/pencil test developed by the National Evaluation Systems. The test consists of three sections: Math, Reading, and Writing/Essay. This is a Texas Success Initiative (TSI) approved test. Registration information and test fees are collected by the university. Appointments can be made in the Office of Academic Testing.

Mailed payments must be postmarked by the registration deadline. A candidate will receive an admission ticket with their room assignment at the time of payment. Seats are limited and available on a first come, first served basis

A $29 check or money order payable to N.E.S. is required at the time of appointment. The candidate’s name and social security number must be printed on the check or money order.

On the day of the test, you should report at 7:45 a.m. to the Center for Instruction. The test will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. You MUST bring your admission ticket and one form of photo identification. If you forget your admissions ticket, two forms of identification are required, one must have a photograph (driver's license, ID card, military ID, or passport). Please remember to bring several no. 2 pencils. An examinee is allotted 5 hours for all or part of the test.

IMPORTANT: Examinees may use a four-function (+,-, x, /), nonprogrammable calculator (with square root and percent keys). Examinees MUST bring their own calculators to the test administration. The following items are prohibited in the testing room: any communication device, backpacks, beverages, books, briefcases, calculator watches, cameras, cellular phones, dictionaries, electronic pagers, food, highlighters, notebooks, notes, packages, paper, slide rules, spell checkers, study aids, or unapproved calculators.

*** Regular THEA testing will be conducted on October 18, 2008 and February 28, April 25, June 27, and July 25 of 2009. You must register for these tests at www.thea.nesinc.com or by calling NES at (512) 927-5398, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. central time, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
