Question:I have heard about some way to buy tuition today for mychild/grandchild at today's tuition rate even though they are only___ years old. How do I do that?

Answer:This is called the TexasTomorrow Fund. It is handledthorough the State Comptroller's Office in Austin. They can bereached at 1-800-445-4723.

 


Refund,Drop, Withdraw

Question:I want to drop my class. When will I get a refund?

Answer:Students may dropclasses or withdraw from TAMUCC fora semester. Dropping a class means you will remain enrolled in otherclasses. Withdrawing means you are discontinuing taking any coursesfor that semester. Please refer to the refundtable in the classschedule for your specificdates regarding withdrawing and/or dropping classes. Refund checksare issued weekly after applying any outstanding balances due againstall student accounts.

Question:I dropped my classes yesterday. When will I get a refund?

Answer:Refund checks are issued weekly. It will be mailed to your currentbilling address. Please make sure you keep your billing addresscurrent. You may receive refunds by direct deposit. To sign up forDirect Deposit download, print and complete the DirectDeposit Refund Agreement form andturn it into Business office along with void check

Question:I withdrew 2 weeks ago and have not received my refund check. Whereis it?

Answer:If there is a problem, we will need to investigate it. Please send usa letter requesting refund information giving us your student id #(SSN) and the semester about which you are inquiring along with adaytime phone number where you may be reached or come to the officewith this information.

 


DirectDeposit

Question:What does DIRECT DEPOSIT mean?

Answer:If you want any refund to go directly to your bank account, pleasefill out the DirectDeposit Form with the Businessoffice. This saves the time it takes to mail the refund in the formof a paper check to you -- this may be as many as 2 to 5 businessdays, depending on the mail service between Corpus Christi and whereyou live. This also precludes others from picking up this type ofmail for you with the possibility of misplacement. It takes less than2 minutes to fill out the one-page form, provided you have a depositsllip or a check marked canceled on it so we can still see the bank'srouting and account numbers for the account you choose for thispurpose.

Question:I am living on campus. Does the University have afoodplan?

HopeScholarship and Lifetime Learning TAX CREDITS

Question:I have heard about a tax credit,and possible rebate on my tuition.How do I get this?

Answer:This is a federal tax program called the Hope Scholarship or LifetimeLearning Program. While we are not tax consultants we can link you to the Department of Education that gives informationabout these programs. Consult your tax preparer for specificinformation about your tax situation. Tuition Rebate

Question:I understand I can get $1,000 tuition back from the University when Igraduate. How do I do that?

Answer:The purpose of this program is to provide tuition rebates that willprovide a financial incentive for student to prepare for universitystudies while completing their high school work, avail themselves ofacademic counseling, make early career decisions, and complete theirbaccalaureate studies with as few extraneous courses as possible.Minimizing the number of courses taken by students results infinancial savings to students, parents and the state.
