Meet the EdTech Faculty
Dr. Stephen Rodriguez is an authority on teacher preparation in technology and instructional design. He has over 16 years experience in higher education as an educational technologist, teacher educator, and media developer. A frequent contributor at major technology conferences, Stephen has also published in journals such as Educational Technology, Journal of Instructional Development, Tech Trends, and the Journal of Information Technology for Teacher Education. He is also a member of the editorial board of Educational Technology Research and Development. Dr. Rodriguez is currently an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Educational Technology Program at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMUCC). He founded and designed this program. He holds a master’s degree in educational technology from San Diego State University and a doctorate in instructional systems from Florida State University. Stephen has consulted with a variety of organizations including Apple Computer, Sun Microsystems, Computer Curriculum Corporation, and the San José Unified School District in California. Recently, Stephen has served as a member of the Distance Education Advisory Board for the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and as team leader in evaluation projects for the Region 2 Educational Service Center in South Texas. He is also a board member of the Center for Educational Development, Evaluation, and Research at TAMUCC. Dr. Elwood-Salinas’ professional experiences include secondary instruction, international education, multimedia production and working with teachers regarding K-12 technology-integrated applications. She holds the Ed.D. in Educational and Instructional Technology from Texas Tech University. She also earned an M.A. degree from Framingham State University in Education with an International Education focus. Her research interests include the integration of technology with instructional strategies, methods, and related theories.
