What is EdTech@tamucc.edu?

The Master of Science in Educational Technology degree is oriented toward teachers and other professional educators. Its goal is to enable graduates to effectively apply current and emerging technologies in applied skills and knowledge in the following areas:

(1) use of computing hardware and software suitable for use in educational settings;

(2) application of telecommunication and computer network resources in education;

(3) application of personal productivity computing resources in education;

(4) instructional design theory, principles, and processes;

(5) design, development, and evaluation of educational software and other instructional materials;

(6) multimedia design and development for instruction.

The degree allows students to work with the faculty adviser to develop a program of study that emphasizes development of skills and knowledge in a specific aspect of educational technology. Courses within the program also typically meet the requirements for a teaching endorsement in Computer Information and Technology. All students are required to successfully complete a practicum and pass a comprehensive examination.
