The Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA) is excited that your
student is interested in Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. We hope
that you will seek our assistance as you help your child prepare for college.
The OSFA hopes to be a partner in your student’s success at the
Island University.
Please use the following tools
as you begin to explore the Island:
- College
for Texans (www.collegefortexans.com) - This site is
an excellent resource to learn more about preparing for, applying to,
and paying for college. This site also includes information on waivers,
exemptions, and special programs for Texas residents.
- Adventures
in Education (www.adventuresineducation.org) - This
site helps you learn more about how to help your student plan for, apply
to, and pay for college. You can also find information on tax benefits
and savings plans on this site.
- Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (www.fafsa.ed.gov)
- This is the site where your student will complete their FAFSA. Please
remember, your student will need your financial information to complete
a FAFSA.
- PIN
Registration (www.pin.ed.gov) - You can use this site
to apply for a Parent Personal Identification Number (PIN). You will
need a PIN to electronically sign your student’s FAFSA and to
sign your PLUS loan Master Promissory Note.
- U.S.
Department of Education
(www.ed.gov/index.jsp) - This site contains many resources to help prepare
your and your student for college. It contains tips to help parents
plan for their child’s college education whether your student
is in kindergarten or a high school senior.
- The
SmartStudent Guide to Financial Aid
(www.finaid.org) - This site can help you estimate your student’s
eligibility for need-based financial aid. It also contains links to
information on scholarship opportunities (FastWeb!) and news on scams
to watch out for.
