A really great treat for us each time he comes to Corpus, is Avi. He's a great writer and gave us a great presentation at lunch. We thank him for his talent, and wish him many more great books.

Avi posed and let us capture the moment. He signed books and was generous with his time as he worked with young writers and teachers throughout the conference.

The Stevens sisters were posing and signing books galore. We got them with Norma Zunker, a crackerjack of a kindergarten teacher in Calallen. She said, "Tops and Bottoms is my favorite book." I got this great shot of Norma and the Stevens sisters. Thanks to all.

Billie deShetler never does anything in a small way. She was asked to make a boot to advertise for the next TSRA conference in Fort Worth in November. She made a three feet tall boot of beans. It was stunning.

Michele Schoenfelder and Billie deShetler pose with two of the 500 placemats that 500 CCISD students made for the conference. Every teacher at the lunches got to take home a placement. Way to go kids and teachers. Thank you very much.

The Flour Bluff ISD Color Guard did a great job getting us started with our first general session.

Nancy Payne made a special trip down to the convention center Thursday night to see her Galvan Steppers. She was thrilled, and it shows on her face. Thanks Nancy.

And of course, after it was all over, it was time to go pet the dogs. They'd been wondering where I was. Their favorite spot is Malaquite Beach. Mine too.
