Outstanding Service Award
2005 Anne Ries: Anne is the Women's
Center Senior Secretary. She is a senior who will be graduating in May
with her B.A. in English and Political Science. Anne stepped into the
Women's Center at a crucial time. "We were planning a year that looked
to be more difficult and demanding than any previous year, and I was
faced with the prospect of doing this with a new assistant. I wasn't
happy about it. Anne came in, did her job, learned the ropes, and has
jumped feet first into every single project we've undertaken this year.
This has been the year of growth and it has been because of Anne's
willingness to learn and grow in this job, and to absorb greater
responsibility."
2005 Camille Saenz: Camille is the Student Office
Assistant for the Women's Center. Cami as we call her came in during
the chaotic Fall semester, and just made herself at home. "Cami works
quietly, efficiently, and positively. She is the "unsung heroine" of
the office. Her work is what allows Anne, the interns, and I to do our
jobs more efficiently. She has referred to herself as "The Scotch Tape
of the Women's Center" and I think that is an accurate description.
Cami is a graduate student pursuing her Masters in Education and
Certification as a Social Studies Teacher."
2005 Natalie Tijerina: Natalie began her work at the
Center last Fall as our Technical Writing Intern. Natalie designed the
incredible new brochure for the Women's Center. "She took this project
from an idea to print - and handled it all every step of the way. She
came back in Spring as our Communications Intern. She continued her
work in developing attractive and informative newsletters, flyers, and
announcements. But, she also undertook re-designing and re-writing our
website. Natalie is no-nonsense and hard-working. She is also a senior
graduating in May with her B.A. in English."
