Zena Franklin, B.A. - Zena is the Women's Center Special Events Intern for the spring 2005 semester. She is a senior here at Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi, graduating in May with a B.A. in Theatre Production. Upon completion of her degree she will be taking a year off and then pursuing her M.A. in acting. Zena is a 2001 graduate of Round Rock High school in Round Rock, Texas. Zena began her involvement with the Women's Center when she founded and became president of "Project: Equality" a student organization with a basis in women's rights through education and activism. She is also currently serving on the Women's Center Board of Directors. Zena feels very blessed to get to work with such an amazing group of women and thanks them for making her last semester at A&M so fulfilling.



Natalie Tijerina, B.A. - Natalie is the Women's Center Technical Writer, Communications Intern, and Webmistress for Spring 2005. She has been working at the Center since Fall 2004. Natalie is a Senior undergraduate student here at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and is an English major. She is involved with the Middle Eastern Dance Club as well as other organizations throughout the community. In Spring 2004, the Department of Rec Sports awarded her with the "Outstanding Sports Club President" award for the 2003-2004 school year. Working as an intern here at the Women's Center has given her a chance to gain a broad understanding of how technical and professional writing is used daily. During her time here, Natalie has helped to promote the Women's Center and all of their many events happening around campus.


Camille Saenz, B.A. - Camille Saenz is a graduate studenat Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, majoring in Secondary Education. She graduated from A.C. Jones High school in Beeville Texas in May of 2000. She then attended Coastal Bend College where she earned her Associates degree in Arts. In December 2003 she earned her Bachelors of Arts from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. She is very involved in community service and is a member of Omega Phi Alpha National Service Sorority as well as president for the Political Science Club. She enjoys her position as office assistant for the Women's Center and is looking forward to the upcoming year.




Karen Alvarado, B.A. - A lifetime resident of Corpus Christi and graduate of Mary Carroll High School, Karen Alvarado has been attending TAMUCC for the past 4 years as a theatre major. Dedicated to her craft, Karen serves as the President of the department's club, The Last Act Theatre Company, and has recently recieved an Irene Ryan Nomination for her performance in Still Life With Iris. She has participated in numerous campus productions but stays involved with community theatre through the Harbor Playhouse and the Quetzal Theatre Group. Karen now serves as the Special Events Planning intern for the Women's Center with the objective of directing the 2006 production of The Vagina Monologues in accordance with V-Day. Upon graduation, Karen plans on attending graduate school in order to pursue a career in acting.


Anne Ries, B.A. - Anne has been the Senior Secretary of the Women's Center for over a year and a half. She loves working for the WC because of its commitment to the students, faculty, and staff of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Anne is an English graduate student and a dedicated learner. She enjoys new challenges and experiences. Anne serves her community by her involvement in Omega Phi Alpha, a national service sorority on campus at TAMU-CC. She is excited about being apart of a group that is so dedicated to helping and caring for its community.





Savannah Smith-Thomas, B.A. - Savannah is a graduate of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi with a degree in Theatre with an emphasis in acting and directing. Savannah has accepted an intern position in the Women's Center and has been honored with the opportunity to direct Vagina Monologues in the Spring of 2007, an event in which Savannah was heavily involved in spring 2006 as a performer. Savannah is also a former Historian of the Last Act Theatre Company and was extremely involved in the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Theatre Department. Savannah is honored to be a part of such a wonderful community of strong, inspirational women at the Women's Center.




Jennifer Hinojosa, B.A. - Jennifer is a graduate of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi with a degree in Communication with a focus in media. She is a former special events planning intern. Jennifer was also the 2006-2007 President of the Middle Eastern Dance Club and has been dedicated to the club as an active member and a two-year Vice President. After her graduation she hopes to work as a full-time Event Coordinator until she goes to film school to fulfill her dreams of becoming a director.






Adriana Armendarez, B.A. - Adriana recently graduated with a degree in communication and a minor in public relations. She is our former Special Events Planning intern and Senior Secretary for the Women's Center. Adriana loves executing programs for others to enjoy, grow, and learn. She has also been successful achieving these programming goals as a Resident Advisor for Camden Miramar, the housing department at TAMUCC between 2004 and 2006. As a former president of her national service sorority Omega Phi Alpha, Adriana is dedicated to community service, and loves to help those around her. Plans after graduation include pursuing a masters degree in public relations.

Kimberly Perez, B.A - Kimberly is a graduate from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi with a degree in communication and a minor in public relations. Kimberly was our Senior Special Events intern. She is also a 2003 graduate from Mary Carroll High School. Kimberly is a avid pet lover who enjoys volunteering at the PALS animal shelter. She is also a member of the national service sorority Omega Phi Alpha. Kimberly plans to pursue a career in event coordinating or public relations after graduation.






Angela Huddleston, B.A. - Angela recieved her B.A. at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in Communication with a media emphasis. She is currently enrolled as a graduate student in the Counseling program here at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. She helped to found the Islander Democrats in 2004 and served as the organizations first president. As the Senior Educational Programming intern, Angela hopes to contribute her creativity and passion for new ideas to the Women's Center. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in event planning, particularly for weddings. Angela also has a four year daughter named Kaitlyn.





Lenora Perkins - Lenora Perkins is currently an undergraduate senior here at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi majoring in Biology with an emphasis in Marine Science and minoring in Creative Writing. Lenora is our Technical Writing intern. She is also an Islander track athlete competing in the hammer and javelin throw. Lenora is also an active member and holding officer positions of two sport clubs: Middle Eastern Dance Club, and SCUBA Club. As an intern, Lenora hopes to contribute to the Women’s Center by bringing her own personal skills and creativity to each task assigned to her here. After graduation she plans to pursue a career in the research field of science, particularly in sharks.




Selena Armendarez, B.A. - Selena Armendarez is a recent graduate Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi with a degree in Communication and a minor in Public Relations. Selena was our Educational Programming intern. Upon graduation, Selena will spend a year working with Oscar Mayer in their mobile publicity unit. She also plans on attending graduate school. Selena enjoys participating in community service and is currently the President of Omega Phi Alpha – National Service Sorority. Selena also enjoys spending time with her family, sisters, the women center staff, her boyfriend, and her pug, Piggy.

Rhonda Wilson Williamson, MS, has been the Director of the Women's Center for Education and Service since September 2006. She had previously been the Women's Center Coordinator since September 2001. Rhonda began her work with the Center in 1999 as our first Women's History Month intern. She became the Center' Senior Secretary in August 2000. She earned her BA in communication from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in May of 2001 and her Masters in Secondary Education from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in December of 2007. Rhonda serves her community by participating on the Board of Directors for the YWCA of Corpus Christi, an organization focused on empowering girls and women and eliminating racism. Rhonda loves her job because it allows her to do something different every day and work with other women in the pursuit of equality. Rhonda is the proud mother of a new daughter - another woman to work with. Rhonda is also the advisor for the Middle Eastern Dance Club here at TAMUCC.
