These are examples of how we have been using Wiki at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
Teaching
- Online Discussion Here's an actual discussion that took place in one of our classes on how we should actually set up a discussion page using Wiki. The kinds of critical thinking decisions that we want students to make were brought up as the students questioned each other on how we should do this. Those decisions would have been made for them in a closed-source system such as WebCT.
- Teaching Site This is an example of the teaching site of one our colleagues, Frances Johnson, illustrating the many ways she uses Wiki to teach First Year Writing at TAMU-CC.
- Online Course We even use the Wiki to teach online courses. Some students find the courses challenging because they z650 are so used to rigidly structured environments like WebCT, but most come to prefer this environment once they get used to it.
- Tommy's Wiki Home and Susan's Wiki Home: Here are the authors' Wiki Homes so that you can see all that we've been doing with the tool.
- Basic student site and More advanced student site We create Home sites for students that they can use for any class at the university.
Collaborative Writing
Other
- Writing Center Here's an example of how we use Wiki as an administrative/marketing tool. The TAMU-CC Writing Center website was developed by a student using Wiki. Note also, that it is very much a work in progress and changes quite often.
- Workshop We used the Wiki to conduct a workshop on web accessibility. Notice the use of the trail feature on this site. Another Wiki function that we haven't mentioned before.
