Admissions Process

1. Submit the admission application, completed and signed.
2. Attach the $25 application fee ($50 for international students). Make the check or money order payable to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Include your name and social security number on the check.
3. Have the testing agency send your SAT or ACT score directly to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. SAT code: 0366. ACT code: 4045.
4. Have your high school send a current, official transcript indicating grades and class rank at least through the junior year directly to the University. The transcript must confirm the courses which will be completed through the senior year. If you have graduated from high school already, have your school furnish an official transcript which includes the date of graduation, class rank and grades for all courses taken. Definition of "official": the transcript bears an original signature of a school official and/or the school seal and is mailed directly from the school.
5. Meet high school unit requirements (see below).
6. Satisfy class rank/test score requirements (see below).
7. Have all previous colleges send an official college transcript. Your cumulative grade point average (GPA) must be 2.0 on a scale of 4.0. You must be a student in good standing and eligible to return to the last college or university attended.

It is recommended that high school students have at least 1 credit in computer literacy. Competency is required prior to graduation from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

Automatic Admissions Standards

THEA Test Requirements

The Texas State Legislature requires that all part-time and full-time students who enter Texas public institutions of higher education must take the Texas Higher Education Assessment (THEA). Beginning in Fall 1998, students are required to take the THEA before enrolling in a Texas public institution of higher education.

Exemptions to the THEA Requirement

You may be THEA exempt if:

1. Your ACT or SAT test scores were as follows:

• You have an ACT composite score of 23 or higher. With a 19 minimum on the mathematics and English test each.
• You have an SAT score of 1070. With a minimum of 500 on the mathematics and verbal tests each.

NOTE: Scores are valid only if ACT and SAT scores are no more than five years old on the date of the student's initial enrollment in a Texas public institution of higher learning.
