Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi offers several ways to finance and afford your education, such as scholarships, University loans, and more.
University Level Scholarships: Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi offers a number of scholarships, which recognize scholastic potential and achievement. Academic Scholarships are based on high academic achievements, educational objectives and goals, evidence of leadership and service, and an explanation of how this scholarship will help achieve educational objectives. How can I know if I am eligible to apply?
Eligible students must meet these requirements to be awarded a scholarship:
1-Be accepted to a degree seeking program
2-Have at least a 3.0 GPA
3-Meet minimum enrollment requirements
(6 hours
during a regular semester or 3 hours during the summer)
Do I have to be admitted to the University prior to applying for scholarships?
Your first step in applying for scholarships should be applying for admission to the University. You will not be awarded a scholarship unless you have been admitted.
What information is used to determine scholarship awards?
Scholarship awards are based on a student’s overall scholarship application (i.e., GPA, essay, resume, leadership, etc.) and not just on a single criterion.
What are the scholarship deadlines?

How will I be notified if I am/am not awarded a scholarship?
A: Normally, you will be notified by mail or email if you are selected to receive a scholarship. Correct mailing and email addresses should be submitted on the application. Also, you can view any financial aid and scholarships that are offered to you (after you are accepted) in SAIL, at http://sail.tamucc.edu/.
What if I did not submit my scholarship application by the deadline?
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi will accept scholarship applications throughout the year, even after the deadline. But, any scholarship application submitted after the deadline will only be considered as funds are available. There is no guarantee that the University will award any scholarships after the deadline.
How can I find out what other scholarships/funding are available to Graduate Students?
Periodically, funding from donor scholarships may become available for graduate students during the year. Filling out the scholarship application on the Graduate Studies website will allow you to be considered for these scholarships if funding becomes available. There are three types of graduate assistants at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi:
1. Graduate Teaching Assistants
2. Graduate Research Assistants
3. Graduate Assistants - Non-Teaching
Graduate Teaching Assistants: Graduate students interesting in becoming Teaching Assistants in the First-Year Seminar Program should contact the Co-Directors of the University Core Curriculum Program for information. Graduate assistants receive an assistantship, which helps them finance their graduate studies.

THE GOIZUETA FOUNDATION GRADUATE SCHOLARS ASSISTANTSHIPS FOR 2010-11
The Goizueta Foundation, founded by Roberto C. Goizueta (former Chairman and CEO of The Coca-Cola Company), established The Goizueta Foundation Graduate Scholars Fund to enhance the education and skills of graduate students at The University of Georgia (UGA) dedicated to Latino education so that these Graduate Scholars will continue to contribute to Latino educational improvement in the United States after they complete graduate school. The Center for Latino Achievement and Success in Education (CLASE), housed in the College of Education at UGA, supervises these campus-wide assistantships awarded to outstanding graduate students.
THE AWARD
This assistantship consists of a total stipend of approximately $12,000, paid over ten months. In addition,
students awarded these assistantships are eligible for a reduced tuition rate, paying only $25 per semester
plus student fees. Students spend 13 hours per week starting in August 2010, working with the UGA Center for
Latino Achievement and Success in Education [See
http://www.coe.uga.edu/clase]. Assistantships are awarded for one year, and may be renewed for up to
two additional years based on excellent performance and satisfactory progress towards degree.
ELIGIBILITY
Eligible students are current or incoming graduate students (preferably doctoral level students admitted to
the Graduate School and a graduate program by the nomination deadline) in any department or college at the
University of Georgia with proficiency in Spanish who have:
- An outstanding academic record
- Expertise/experience in Latino education and/or potential and intent to contribute to Latino education in the United States upon completion of graduate school.
- Proficiency in Spanish
- Citizenship, permanent residence, family in the U.S., or other indication of intent to remain in the U.S. following graduation
APPLICATION DEADLINE
Applicants must submit electronically as a single .pdf, the following information: a letter of application
describing how the applicant meets the eligibility and selection criteria (including Spanish proficiency,
academic goals/department, and commitment to Latino education/outreach), a resume with contact information,
and two letters of recommendation with contact information. Social security numbers must not be included in
any of the application materials. Compile in the order listed above and save as a single Adobe Acrobat file,
named with the last name of the applicant and "Goizueta" (for example, Matthews_Goizueta.pdf). The compiled
Adobe Acrobat application file should be sent as an email attachment to
graddean@uga.edu.

Fellowships are awarded to students who show an unusual promise and ability in their program. Fellowship holders are entitled to resident tuition and receive an additional grants each semester towards tuition and fees. Any available fellowships are generally posted on this page.
The Office of Graduate Studies does not have any fellowship opportunities available through Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi at this time. Please do not hesitate to contact your degree counselor, academic advisor or the Office of Financial Assistance for more information.
