Courage to Survive a Tornado

Have you ever been stranded in the middle of nowhere? One cold October Saturday night, my family decided to take a drive down a nearby country road to see Halloween decorations in the nearby town. Suddenly, our car rattled and came to an unexpected stop!

All of a sudden, the sky turned pitch black, and we heard thunder roaring like a lion! Lightning struck down with anger. Our bodies shivered, and our hearts pounded like beating drums! We could not believe our luck, up ahead was the largest tornado ever, rapidly headed our way! The tornado picked our old car up and shook us wildly. The tornado was our worst foe ever. Our lives were in peril!

I decided to be my family's hero. I looked around the car trying to find something to help us out. All I could find was some rope. I thought and thought. A great idea popped in my head. I threw the rope out the window, and I slid down to safety. One by one my wonderful family followed my lead. We hugged each other tightly until the evil tornado was out of sight. We heard a loud bang as our car fell to the ground. It was a miracle, yes I say, a miracle, our car was in perfect condition. We got into our car and drove to our house. I had saved my life and my family.

I felt as proud as a peacock because I was the hero. My bravery was finally revealed.
