Learning Scenarios

This component of The Math Page features a collection of modules developed with the framework of Problem-Based Learning (PBL)(1): A learning method based on the principle of using problems as a starting point for the acquisition and integration of new knowledge.(2)

The modules contain a variety of materials such as: one- semester course/unit (The Savannah-Badoo Project & Mission CHIRAL), a series of connected lectures (The Cell Page)(3), algebraic thinking tools (PATRONES: A Pattern Thinking Place) and assessment projects (The Backyard Subdivision).

These materials are intended to facilitate collaborative work and to promote higher- level thought processes by: interpreting written and graphical information, conducting guided investigations at reputable web sites, and demonstrating knowledge of mathematics content by problem-solving with real-life applications.

The user will find descriptions of the scenarios by clicking on the titles. Support materials are also available in most cases. Please, check the page regularly for new additions.
