Pre-AP Strategies for History - Middle School
Consultant: Joseph Eberhard
A primary focus of "Pre-AP" is to prepare students with the necessary skills to be successful in AP courses. The development of these skills is the focus of this Summer Institute. The week begins with the affective skills students need to establish as a foundation for cognitive development. The institute continues with the application of the affective skills to each teacher's specific curriculum with the goal of the student's ability to write effective essay exams. This ensures that Institute participants will be able to go back to their campuses and comfortably incorporate the activities and ideas from day one.
