Methods of Payment
A check, money order or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) must accompany registration. Checks and money orders are to be made payable to: Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi
Confirmations
It is essential that participants complete all of the address information requested legibly on the registration form. Failure to do so could result in failed email confirmations, the inability to communicate with a participant to share important information or instructions, or other issues that could negatively affect the participant’s experience at the 111th Meeting of the Texas Academy of Science. Information provided on the registration form is not shared with other parties and is used exclusively by the Office of Community Outreach at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi to notify participants of information regarding the meetings and conferences.
A registration e-confirmation will be sent to the e-mail address of the participant upon receipt of payment from the participant.
Hotel Information
The Omni Marina will serve as the host hotel and is conveniently located in downtown Corpus Christi on the bay, within walking distance of dining, educational and recreational activities. Corpus Christi is a popular destination for Spring Break travel. The host hotel is offering excellent rates of $85 night/room for up to four participants. Participants are encouraged to make their reservations prior to the February 28, 2008 deadline in order to take advantage of this special discounted rate. Climate/Clothing
Spring days in Corpus Christi are often mild with an average temperature of 71 degrees. Participants are encouraged to wear, layered clothing due to variable Texas temperatures. University conference room facilities are air-conditioned and due to the diversity of conference participants comfort levels, we ask that you include a light jacket or sweater.
Air-Travel
Participants are responsible for their own travel arrangements.
The distance from the airport to the host hotel is approximately 9.18 miles. Travel time can take 15 minutes or more depending on traffic.
The distance from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi to the Corpus Christi International Airport is 15.9 miles and can take 20 minutes or more depending on traffic.
Transportation
Participants are responsible for transportation.
Parking
Parking permits are required to park on the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi campus. Parking is available on a first come- first serve basis. Participants are encouraged to arrive early. A permit and campus map will be enclosed in your confirmation packet. There are no parking fees to park on the campus, however, tickets are issued to vehicles that do not display a permit, park illegally, or do not obey posted speed limits, and other violations.
