L. Jamison - Jacksonville
Can we get a list of CTE courses that count as academic classes on recommend plan?

Paula Hammond - Angleton ISD - phammond@angletonisd.net
For Rita Chase, I am in a small district. My budget(s) is treated as classified information.
If I apply State Funding Financing to my numbers of students, does the extra 35 factor amount
to the expenditures, or is it the total 1.35 factor?
Doug Moss - Greenwood - dmoss@esc18.net
How will the CTE teacher certification change since courses under the "old" program areas and certifications are now scattered among several career clusters - as per the CTE Course Manual on line at TEA website?
Topic: ATC Certification - San Antonio College or A.C.C.D do not want to accept statewide
articulated courses. They say the problem lies at the state level. How can we solve this problem?
Judson CTE teachers have taken the Part I online training on the ATC website. We would like to have
Part II in San Antonio. How can we get SAC to participate in ATC?
Adrian Collett - acollett@judsonisd.org
Rule is $85 for Hotel. What is the rule when we have to pay more? This year a CTSO Conference hotel is $149.00.
Law Question: How can we challenge a request mandated by a principal; asking a teacher change a grade on a student. For example, the student never did the work and when asked to do it they refused teacher assigns a 50 for 3rd six weeks but principal request to change it to 65 as a directive to teacher.
I represent 15 districts. Several districts are on a 7 class period schedule with graduation allowing
for only 28 credits, this does not leave much room for CTE courses. In light of the new 4x4
requirements, CTE will suffer in many districts. Is TEA looking at alternative CTE courses that
might satisfy some of the 4x4 requirements?
Richard Palmer - Piney East Perkins Consortium - 903-574-0601
Why don’t the minutes in Section V Attendance Accounting Part 4-5 accrue in equal amounts? V1-45-89, V2 - 90-149 (2x45=90), V3 - 150-180 (3x45=135)
PBMAS - Guidance on how to fill in each of the activities for level 3. What, how needs to be put in place in each activity. Ex. Focused Data Prog Effect Review Full compliance Rev. CIP. No Service Center Representation.
In most high schools, who works with students to develop the 4 year graduation plan which includes
the CTE coherent sequence of courses?
Deborah Frank - dfrank@crosbyisd.org
Does the component in “Career Cruising” that helps students/parents develop a CTE four year plan
qualify as a Personal Graduation Plan required by the state?
Deborah Frank - dfrank@crosbyisd.org
Creditable Years of Service - An individual has accreditation to teach in Texas and taught in a public
school for 15 years in her teaching field, Voc. Home Economics, 1 year in another subject (English)
under emergency certification. She then taught in another school district as a permanent substitute in
English for a semester. I don’t believe this individual received credit for the substitute teaching on
the service record. What steps must be taken to ensure that she does receive this credit? Also, this
means that perhaps this individual probably qualified for a higher salary step. Is this correct? Would
this pay be retroactive? Thank you.
Drusilla Lomas - dlomas@westosoisd.esc2.net
If a community college instructor teaches a dual credit CTE course on your campus, is the class eligible for weighted CTE funding? What if the students go to a community college to take the DC CTE classes? Do you collect CTE weighted funding?
1) Will 5% still be the minimum per each of the 9 required uses for the budget page?
2) Will state and local $ need to be reported if all of our Perkins $ are used on the 9? Now that they
are deleting the Permissive uses…?
Is the state considering a statewide attendance software program to streamline information?
Brent Berryman - Lindale ISD
Re: Student Accounting - “Appropriate CTE staff should verify the Student Detail Report after the end
of each 6-week reporting period to ensure the accuracy of CTE coding” Please give a specific example
of how this can be done.
Pala Hammond - phammond@angletonisd.net
For Rita Chase: Under administrative costs you made a comment about monies rolled over from previous years.
Where can I get more information about this? I have always believed it was use it or lose it in regards
to funding.

funding? (101 and not 102 applied)
Cheryl Gillenwater - cgillenwater@calallen.k12.tx.us
What is the minimums classroom CTE time for funding and compliance? We are on a regular schedule and considering
a move to an 8 period day.
Wiley Sullivan - Dir of Technology and CTE - Farmersville ISD - wsullivan@farmersville.net
Provide info on the laws. How is it set up through legislative down to the local district. For example, how local policies/rules adopted are coming from. Identify TAC, TEC, Admin. Code all those coding Education codings Education codes etc? I hope I make sense.
In the coming revision of CTE courses and TEKS, how will this impact the teacher certifications, which are still organized along the old 7 program areas. Also, why can’t Business teachers certified under CTE also be eligible to teach Technology Applications courses? Many TEKS are the same.
In the revision of CTE TEKS, will the revision include a reorganization from the 7 old program areas to the new Career Cluster areas as reflected in the CTE Course Manual? Currently there are TEKS posted for courses that are NOT in the CTE Course Manual.
If a school group of 500 10th graders has 30 ESL students not mastering at required level, the % is not poor enough for the school to fall below the standard. But the same 30 ESL students not passing in a CTE group of 200 may be a higher % and the CTE program is penalized under PBMAS. It seems that the school as a whole and the CTE program are not equitably evaluated under PBMAS.
Please clarify: A CTE course for high school credit i.e. BCIS does/does not get weighted funding when taken
in 8th grade with a certified CTE instructor?
