Adopt-A-Beach
Mark your Calendars! The Adopt-A-Beach Winter Cleanup will be held Friday, February 16,2007 at South Padre Island. The Adopt-A-Beach Coastal Cleanup is set for Saturday, February 17,2007. Volunteer and registration information will be coming soon!
Clean Air Fair 2006
The Pollution Prevention Partnership’s 2006 Clean Air Fair was held on August 28. Several hybrid vehicles including sedans and SUVs were available for a test drive. Each hybrid vehicle on site that day was purchased by fair participants and several more fair participants placed orders for the purchase of a hybrid vehicle.
Air Quality information such as how every day activities of individuals can effect air quality, health effects of air quality and more were shared with fair participants under the big top.
Free lung function tests in partnership with Driscoll Children’s Hospital were provided to fair participants. Lung function is important information to know during ozone season when “sensitive” populations – or people with compromised lung function should reduce their exposure to the outdoors during high ozone days.
AutoCheck was on site performing free auto emissions test and free repairs to failing vehicles. Over 750 vehicles were screened by AutoCheck during the Clean Air Fair and several vehicles were identified as polluting and repaired.
Ozone Season 2005 - Success and Celebration Recognition and Awards
The Pollution Prevention Partnership celebrated a successful ozone season 2005 by recognizing over 25 local partners that have worked with P3 to make Corpus Christi's clean air success story possible.
TCEQ Commissioner Ralph Marquez spoke at the event and congratulated Corpus Christi and the Pollution Prevention Partnership for being a model program.
